The managed industrial Ethernet switches in the new Rail Switch Power Expandable (RSPE) family offer maximum flexibility thanks to a range of media modules.

Practical and cost-effective
Based on the tried-and-tested Hirschmann™ RSP family, the new managed RSPE switches allow flexible installations in which the network design can be quickly adapted to cope with changing application needs. By adding simple-to-install media modules, a basic RSPE switch with eight Fast Ethernet twisted pair ports and four Combo ports that support Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet, can be quickly extended to provide up to 28 ports.

Maximum network availability
With HSR (High-Availability Seamless Redundancy) and PRP (Parallel Redundancy Protocol), the RSPE switches boast redundancy protocols that guarantee uninterrupted data communication. In addition, they feature extensive security mechanisms to provide reliable protection against network attacks or operating errors. They also allow precise time synchronization compliant with IEEE 1588v2, which in turn permits applications with rigorous real-time requirements to be reliably networked.
